The public limited company KMOTR - Masna Kromeriz a.s. ranks among the leading producers of durable meat products in the Czech Republic. The company has a tradition of more than fifty years. Its current staff numbers 130 and the annual production volume exceeds 3,000 tonnes.
The company is renowned among customers for its production of durable fermented salamis. The production volume in this particular product range is the highest of all in the country. Our salamis such as "Polican", "Paprikas (Salami with red pepper and chillies)", "Herkules" and "Lovecky (Hunting salami)" have become the most favourite products well known throughout the Czech market for many years, demonstrating very high saleability over a long period of time. In addition, the product range of the KMOTR Company has been recently expanded by other new products such as garlic spiced salami "Cesnekovy trvanlivy", or products such as "Saturn" and "Bratislavska klobasa". The group of durable heat-treated salamis is dominated by the "Vysocina" salami, but also the "Bermudsky trojuhelnik" (Bermuda Triangle) ranks among very popular products.
The quality of products sold under the KMOTR brand name is assured by the strict application of two main rules, the first being the purchase of carefully selected raw materials, i.e. meat and spices, the second being the processing of these raw materials into final products. The essential raw materials for KMOTR products are lean pork meat and lard as well as beef to a certain degree. Pork meat is purchased from Czech producers and imported from selected slaughterhouses in EU countries (Germany, Denmark and Holland). Beef is mostly of Czech origin. The supplied raw materials must meet specified criteria; if a supplier fails to meet these, the materials are returned to him immediately. The above rules have been incorporated into the quality management system to CSN EN ISO 9001:2001. The company satisfied the requirements for certification in 2004.
The processing of raw materials into meat emulsion, filling it into casings and other treatment operations (such as heat treatment or fermentation and the subsequent ageing process) are conducted on machines and equipment mostly from German manufacturers. Top-quality machines together with high professional skill and expertise of our employees are the best guarantee for the highest quality final meat products. Regular checks of organoleptic properties of semi-finished and final products, as well as regular microbiological and chemical analyses in accredited laboratories are conducted as a matter of course.
The top quality of KMOTR products has been repeatedly proven in international competitions organised within the EU region. The company is regularly awarded prizes in competitions in Wels, Austria (last time, in 2004, it won 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal), another great success were 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal in tests performed by DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft E.V.) in 2005.
The company has an approximately 15-percent share in the range of durable meat products in the Czech market. Since 2004, it has successfully entered EU markets (Slovakia and Poland).
The accession to the EU has made the import of high-quality fresh pork meat from abroad much easier for the company. At the beginning of 2004, the manufacturing plant obtained a certificate from the veterinary office, enabling the company to export its products into EU member countries. The cancellation of customs duties was another important step in mutual business relationships.
